The counter-terrorism department (CTD) arrested three terrorists of two banned outfits during crackdown on Thursday.
SSP Junaid Sheikh said that the CTD conducted an operation in the city during which three terrorists identified as Arifullah, Inayatullah and Shamas Uddin and belonging to defunct Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) were detained.
He said that nabbed terrorist Shamas Uddin belonged to South Waziristan Agency (SWA) and he was involved in attacking security forces during Lal Masjid operation. SSP CTD Junaid Sheikh informed that the detainee Arifullah belonged to Macchar Colony and is Ameer of LeJ Karachi. The accused used to finance the terrorism across the country and transfer extortion money to Afghanistan, he added.
The nabbed terrorists have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
