A local court on Thursday granted bail to Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Imran Babar Jameel who was allegedly involved in raping a 15-year-old girl in Kahna area.

The Sessions Court granted him the bail against deposit of surety bond of Rs 50,000. Previously, the DSP was sent to jail on a judicial remand.

During the hearing, the court was informed that both the parties had reached an understanding and no there was no dispute between them.

The accused requested the court to accept his bail application. After hearing both sides, the court issued orders for release of Jameel on bail.

Talking to reporters, Jameel denied the allegations. “I am being implicated in this case by my opponents who are in the Police Department. I had exposed the Punjab law minister, IGP, Lahore SP CIA Omar Virk and other senior officers in 2012. Therefore, I am being victimised,” the officer said when he was brought to the court.

Police had arrested the DSP after a criminal case was registered against him on the complaint of the mother of a young girl in which she accused him of raping her daughter. The DIG had ordered for arrest of the DSP and fair investigation into the matter.

A police party, headed by the Kahna police station SHO conducted a raid and arrested DSP Jameel.

  1. It was an interesting scene when the Policemen were dumping this double-chin rapper in the Police Mobile. All criminals are supposed to deny any wrong doing. So are doing exposed in the Panama Leaks. Where and what difference ?
