Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that getting elected as Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan is no longer in PTI chief Imran Khan’s fate, local media reported Thursday.

While talking to the media outside Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said that opposition is only working on agenda that is aimed at dismissing PM Nawaz Sharif from his seat. The opposition is not tabling workable demands over corruption allegations against the government, he added.

The leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Mehmoodur Rasheed responded to Sanaullah’s criticism and said that two small rallies have calmed the Prime Minister down as people were not attending ruling party’s rallies.

He said that PM Nawaz’s dismissal was inevitable and now search for his replacement was underway.

PM Nawaz would have to step down and elect a new Prime Minister from the House to resolve Panama leaks issue, he added. The leader of the Opposition said that the government was heading towards its last days of power.

The opposition had earlier announced to stage a sit-in today outside Punjab Assembly over Panama leaks issue.

PM Nawaz has received a lot of criticism after his daughter and family members were named in Panama Papers for owning offshore companies for alleged tax evasion.

PTI chief Imran Khan has been demanding the Prime Minister to resign ever since the leaks surfaced. Reportedly, PTI will offer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to participant in the demonstration.
