Authority on card for protection of cultural heritage of Peshawar: LG minister

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is working on a plan to establish an authority for protection of cultural heritage of Peshawar, said Senior Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan on Thursday.

All the major cities of KP, including Peshawar, Mardan, Mingora, Abbottabad, Bannu, Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan are being beautified, beautification and expansion of roads and highways are in progress, he said.

Talking to media, the minister said: “Divisional headquarters of all cities of the province would be converted into model cities through extensive beautification, development and cleanliness programs.”

He said protection of cultural heritage of Peshawar was the top priority of KP government.

He said colourful plants and different designs depicting Peshawar’s cultural heritage were being prepared.

Inayat said ring road from Charsadda to Warsak would soon be completed while land was being acquired for the construction of road from Warsak to Nasir Bagh to address the traffic problem. Work on Regi Lalma Housing Scheme Peshawar has been started to provide better residential facilities to the people, he concluded.
