The opposition has formulated a questionnaire consisting of five questions over Panama leaks that it has demanded the Prime Minister answer in the Parliament, local media reported Wednesday.
One of the questions demands PM Nawaz disclose the details of the offshore companies that family owns. The opposition has demanded him to give out net value of his assets, bank accounts, properties, and companies.
Earlier today, opposition parties demonstrated walk-out in the National Assembly (NA) citing Prime Minister’s absence to explain his stance on Panama leaks the reason behind.
This is the second time opposition parties walked out of the National Assembly over PM Nawaz Sharif’s absence after Panama Papers published the leaks. The parties have announced to continue the boycott of NA sessions until Prime Minister appears in the assembly and presents his stance.
PM Nawaz’s family was named in Panama leaks in April for owning offshore companies.
On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan chaired a meeting of senior members of different opposition parties and discussed forming a committee for talks with the government on the matter.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Barrister Saif, PTI’s secretary general Jahangir Tareen, PTI’s spokesperson Shireen Mazari, Sahibzada Tariqullah, Ilyas Bilour and others took part in the meeting.
The Minister said the Prime Minister is not hesitant to attend the House proceedings. Prime Minister is touring Tajikistan and will return by Thursday.
