Court declares Pervez Musharraf as proclaimed offender in high treason case

The special court, hearing high treason case, has declared former president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf proclaimed offender.

Hearing the high treason case against the former military ruler, the special court also ordered for advertising the court verdict in an English and Urdu daily each.

It also directed to place the copy of the order outside the residences of Musharraf and the court.

Rashid Qureshi, a guarantor of Musharraf and joint home secretary appeared before the court on Wednesday.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing till July 12.

In March 2014, Pervez Musharraf was formally charged with treason for imposing emergency and the Provisional Constitutional Order on November 3, 2007.
