PML-Q accuses govt of getting adversaries’ names on Panama Papers

Top Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that his son Moonis Elahi’s name is not in the Panama Papers.

Talking to media at his residence on Tuesday, the former deputy prime minister said the government was trying in vain to create confusion.

“Nawaz-League has done similar mischief prior to the 2013 general elections which was contradicted,” he said, adding that the rulers should worry about themselves instead getting others’ names included in the Panama Leaks.

Pervaiz emphatically said, “I strongly contradict reports being getting published in newspapers regarding Moonis Elahi and our family. Some ministers and daily wagers of the media cell established in the Prime Minister’s House kept trying throughout the night to get names of Moonis Elahi and some other persons included in the Panama Leaks,” he said, adding that through such tactics, the government was trying to divert people’s attention from their misdeeds.

The former Punjab chief minister also said that it would be good for the prime minister to tender his resignation after the Panama Leaks.

To a question, he said that the opposition was unanimous over the Panama Leaks.

He said that no word of Shehbaz Sharif was trustworthy. “He is master of bragging (barkain marna).

He also said that blood of victims of the Model Town tragedy will would not go waste for which the chief minister and his facilitator minister were responsible. “They will certainly be punished,” concluded the PML-Q leader.
