Panama Papers: Maryam Safdar sole owner of a shell company

The second round of database on offshore companies, known as the Panama Papers, reveal more details about assets of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family, local media reported.

The Panama Papers show Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Safdar, who previously denied links with any offshore company, as a sole owner of a shell company.

She is also acting as a partner in her brother Hussain Nawaz’s two companies– Nescol and Nielson. According to the document, she mentioned herself based in Saudi Arabia.

Maryam Safdar got addresses of Peru and Singapore written for her shell companies, the documents revealed.

Hasan Nawaz Sharif is described as “the sole director of Hangon Property Holdings Limited incorporated in the British Virgin Islands.

International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) on Monday published online detailed data from the Panama Papers on more than 200,000 secret offshore companies.

The searchable database is now accessible at www.icij.org.

The list features several personalities from politics, showbiz and business community of Pakistan.
