Opposition parties will hold a meeting with their parliamentary leaders in Islamabad today to review the government’s response over their proposed Terms of References (TORs) made to look into Panama leaks.

According to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the meeting will take place in opposition leader Khursheed Shah’s chamber at 3pm and will be attended by the parliamentary leaders of PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and other parties.

Khurshid Shah stated that the opposition parties are willing to negotiate with the government over the TORs. While addressing the media after inaugurating the Computerised Tomography (CT) scan section of the Civil Hospital in Sukkur, Shah added that thus far no contact has been made from the government side, adding that the Parliament is the constituency of the Prime Minster (PM), “if he wants to avoid it, it’s his will”, he said.

Former Prime Minister and leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday stated that demanding resignation from PM Nawaz is party’s principled stand.

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq stated that the Panama Papers includes names of former leaders and opposition leaders. While addressing a gathering in Qila Saifullah, JI chief said that action similar to that being taken against the terrorists needs also to be taken against the ‘economic terrorists’ in the country, adding that a Bill in this regards will soon be presented in the National Assembly (NA). He added that Siraj said that if accountability is done in the country in true spirit then all the leaders of the country, especially those belonging to Balochistan, will end up in jails.

He also stated that the opposition will devise their next strategy over the ToRs.

Coalition parties on Saturday rejected opposition’s proposed ToRs in a meeting presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

The opposition has given a one-sided decision, not TORs of the commission, said PM Nawaz.

Opposition parties on Tuesday formulated fifteen TORs, demanding to start the investigation of the matter from PM Nawaz Sharif and his family.

It was also demanded that the investigation commission, led by the Chief Justice (CJ) of the Supreme Court, should submit its report within three months.

The opposition demanded that inquiry regarding the other individuals named in the Panama Leaks be completed within one year and that the services of international audit experts be sought in regards to the investigation.

  1. Please don’t make it public till after you apply it. Nawaz Sharif will embarrass you with the evil that he has collected around him in the form of Danyal vying to be a minister. Same is the case with Talal and couple of other employees on daily wages.
