Legendary Pakistani Test batsman Mohammad Yousaf on Monday denied he was offered the post of head coach by Afghanistan Cricket Board (AFC).
The head coach position has been vacant after former Test captain Inzamamul Haq joined the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as chief selector of the national team on April 18.
Mohammad Yousaf did apply for the post but did not receive any reply as yet, according to reports.
Yousuf, who holds the record for scoring most runs in a calendar year in Tests (1788), represented Pakistan in 90 Test matches maintaining an average of 52.29 courtesy 24 centuries and 33 half-tons.
He also played 244 ODIs for Pakistan, scoring 15 tonnes and 64 half tons to accumulate an average of 41.71.
Earlier on Monday, there were rumours that the board has contacted former Pakistani player and asked him to serve as head coach of the team on which, Mohammad Yousaf has also expressed his willingness on the offer.
His beard qualifies him for Afghanistan job..
