D.G.Khan: Unhygienic food lands 13 people in hospital

At least thirteen people including five children fell unconscious after eating unhygienic food from neighbour’s house in Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday.

The resident of an area near Pir Adil, Shabeer Hussain sent food to neighbour Khadim Hussain’s house which, after eating landed thirteen people in the hospital. The doctors stated that three children are in critical condition, however, proper treatment is being given to them.

The victims include the head of the household Khadim Hussain, his mother Haleema Mai, his wife Haseena Mai, his daughter Shahnaz bibi, his sons Hussain, Baqir, Irshad, Safdar, Sajjad, Allah Ditta and Asghar. Another lady Ameena Mai was also shifted to the hospital by the assistance of Rescue 1122.

The patients are also facing difficulties due to lack of beds in the hospital.

Earlier, over 30 people were killed including eight brothers and four others of the same family in Layyah poisonous sweet case while many of the victims are still under treatment in hospitals.

Khalid, shop owner Tariq’s younger brother admitted adding poison to the sweets, seeking revenge because he was fed up of the beating and insulting on every trivial thing. Confession of the 18-year-old was penned down by the magistrate.
