Quality academic institutions are identity of city: governor

Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul Ebad-Khan has said that the Karachi city is recognised by its good quality academic institutions.

He said this on the occasion of oath-taking ceremony of the office-bearers of the UNIKARIANS- an organisation of the prominent old students of the University of Karachi on Saturday.

The University of Karachi was an identity of the city of Quaid which was producing experts in various spheres of academics, he added.

The governor said that those who passed out from University of Karachi were now playing their role prominently in various fields. He stated that students were always proud of their alma mater – the seat of learning.

Ebad said that the teachers while imparting knowledge should also pay more attention on training of the students. He also asked the old students to do whatever they could for their alma mater so that it could keep making headway. Later, the governor, who is also the chancellor of Karachi University, administrated oath to the office-bearers of the UNIKARIANS.

They included Prof Ejaz Ahmed Farooqui, president, Nadeem Hashmi, general secretary, and 16-member managing committee of the organisation.
