Rangers launch mobile app for schools protection in Karachi

Sindh Rangers on Saturday launched a new mobile app to protect schools and colleges in Karachi, officials said.

Addressing a press conference here, Col Qaiser of Rangers said that more than 3000 schools were already registered under the new application named ‘Rangers School College Protection’.

“The application has been specially designed to protect educational institutions from any potential threat,” Qaiser said.

“Karachi has been divided into 60 areas where Rangers will be deployed round the clock. Principals of the schools registered under this application will be able to generate a quick message in case of any threat,” he said.

He said that media houses and police would also be registered soon.

Speaking on this occasion, Maula Bux Chandio, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, praised Rangers’ application as a good step.

He said that Sindh government also contributed to the development of the new application.

Chandio said that shopping malls and offices would also be registered under the new application.

The adviser, however, refused to comment when asked about the arrest of Dr Asim Hussain and Uzair Baloch by Rangers.
