Former Karachi Nazim Mustafa Kamal has sent a formal job application to London’s mayor-elect Sadiq Khan after the latter’s victory in the London elections.
“I have applied not just through the London Metropolitan Area’s Linked In page, but also directly to their paper ad,” said the former Karachi mayor.
“After my experience of managing the city, I served a bit as a legislator, and then as a consultant,” Kamal wrote in his application. “After that, I had a startup of my own, which showed a lot of promise and had initial backing by angel investors, but it eventually died down because of lack of market interest.”
“But I would be able to use even that experience and work it for London’s benefit,” said Kamal, speaking to the Mayor-elect on Skype from his office in Karachi.
“Seriously,” said Kamal, nervously looking out of his office window into the street outside. “I need to get out of this city. Fast.”
