Former Balochistan chief minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Saturday presented himself for accountability after provincial Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani was found involved in large-scale corruption by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Taking the floor of the Provincial Assembly, Baloch said that during his stint as the chief minister he remained unaware of corruption being carried out in the province under the nose of his government so he wanted to present himself for accountability.

Earlier, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl leader and Opposition Leader in Balochistan Assembly Maulana Wasay demanded Dr Malik Baloch and his team resign.

On his turn, Pakhtunkhwa National Awami Party leader Liaquat Agha accused that every minister in the previous government owned a flat in London.

Finance Adviser Mir Khalid Lango admitted that he proved to be vulnerable with regards to his designation, and said he should remain alienated from his post as long as investigation of the Raisani corruption case concluded.

Criticising the government, MPA Zmarak Khan Achakzai questioned as to what happened to the slogans being raised by some to make Balochistan corruption-free. He also said that the lawmakers would have to wait and see how much more money got recovered.
