Suspect who had planned to attack Nine Zero turns out to be ex-MQM worker

 

A suspected al Qaeda member who had planned to attack Nine Zero turned out to be a former activist of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM).

According to details, the arrested suspect made important revelations during the course of his interrogation. Syed Mohommad Murtaza alias Be Naam, alias Abu Hurairah, alias Muawiya was arrested by the Counter-Terrorism Department.

Murtaza disclosed that he had held the position of Unit In-charge of MQM’s student organisation All Pakistan Muttahida Quami Movement Adamjee Science College. He was also an activist of APMSO Nazimabad unit 174 and a sector member of APMSO’s Sector F. Afterwards, he left MQM to join al Qaeda’s subcontinent chapter.

For al Qaeda’s subcontinent chapter, Murtaza revealed he had stalked MQM members and had also planned to target MQM headquarters Nine Zero in an attack. Murtaza also disclosed that he had taken part in a plan to kill workers of MQM.
