Qaim orders tree hacker’s arrest

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, expressing strong displeasure and annoyance on the chopping of trees along Shahrah-e-Faisal, ordered an inquiry and directed Commissioner Karachi Asif Hyder Shah to arrest the culprits.

The chief minister said, “Where were the officers concerned last night when unauthorised personnel started chopping trees?”

He observed that this was due to sheer negligence and connivance of the officers concerned and nobody could have dared to go to such an extent if they had been vigilant.

He directed Asif Hyder Shah to register a case against the culprits and arrest then at the earliest, “We are working hard to improve environment and making efforts to plant trees and give them ownership,” Qaim said, and added this was a very serious issue and must be taken seriously.
