Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Women Wing on Tuesday passed the buck on the Punjab government for the incident of mistreatment with women in the PTI Lahore gathering held on Sunday.

One of the victims of sexual harassment at Sunday’s rally had submitted an application in a police station against Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and held the Punjab government responsible for the mistreatment of women.

The victim said that security arrangements made by the party were very good. 10-12 unknown people showed up and created all the mess. Video evidence can be provided for the identification of the culprits. The Punjab government is responsible for what happened, because they did not provide foolproof security, she said, while addressing a press conference at the chairman secretariat in Lahore.

PTI Women Wing Chairperson Munazza Hassan was also present on the occasion along with other women leaders.

Police had registered a case against at least 100 unknown people for harassing women workers of the PTI during its anti-corruption rally on Sunday. The victims told that after the rally, around 100 men stormed the pavilion reserved for women activists and started harassing them.

PML-N women lawmakers had on Monday criticised Imran Khan and questioned that how someone who cannot run affairs of his own party run affairs of the country. PML-N lawmakers Anusha Rehman, Maryam Aurangzeb and Maiza Hameed had denounced the PTI leadership for the mistreatment of women at party rallies.
