Pakistan Muslim League (PML) organiser and MPA Amna Ulfat said that those who harassed women at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally on Sunday should be arrested immediately, adding that Pakistan Muslim League N- (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) should stop playing blame game against each other. Irrespective of their affiliation to any party, the miscreants must be apprehended and given exemplary punishment after police investigation otherwise women belonging to all spheres of life will start protesting from next week, she said.

She expressed these views while addressing a press conference along with other women leaders of the PML at Muslim League House on Tuesday. Zeba Hassan, Tamkeen Aftab, Sumera Nawaz, Mussarat Akhtar and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

They said that all parties claim to protect the women’s rights but no one except the PML has done anything for the progress of women. Chaudhry Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvaiz Elahi had given respectable status and rights to the women and ensured increased women representation in every sector, but during the tenure of PML-N, women are being deprived of their rights, the PML women leaders said.

They further said that the PML-N has never respected women and that it is the party that has confined the women within the house despite the fact that they comprise half the population. Shehbaz Sharif is only concerned about metro bus and the government is not fulfilling its responsibility of protecting life and property of the people, they added.
