Former Senate Chairman Nayyar Bukhari booked for slapping policeman

Former Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bukhari was booked in a case after he slapped a policeman over snap-checking in Islamabad.

Bukhari, who is a senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and a sitting senator, arrived at a local court where a police guard at the entrance wanted to conduct his snap checking.

Irked by the act, Bukhari slapped the police official and barged into the court, it was reported. “Don’t you know who am I?” Bukhari said, according to an eyewitness.

Meanwhile, IG Islamabad Tariq Masood ordered Bukhari’s arrest after police registered an FIR against him in F-8 police station of Islamabad.

Bukhari is a senior PPP leader from Islamabad and has served as Chairman of the Senate from March 2012 to March 2015.

Bodyguard of the former chairman Senate resorted to torture as well. Reportedly, the victimized security guard brought the matter in sessions judge’s notice but he did not pay heed.

Inspector General (IG) Tariq Masood Yasin has said that police personnel offer sacrifices of their lives for safety of VIPs and should not be treated the way Bukhari did. He has vowed to set an example out of the case for future.

  1. Nothing would happen. Its normal course of business. Policeman is at fault as he was not able to recognize Senator.

  2. IG should make an example of this criminal act. If he doesn’t then IG should be sacked.

  3. Anybody is not above law. Everybody’s moral obligation is to respect law and law enforcing individuals.

What a shame Nayyer Bukhari and his son Jarar Bukhari are in the face of Islamic teachings…i wish and hope when this petty PPP leader and his arrogant son visits abroad they get stripped, checked and scanned rather humiliated in front of the whole world. Koi haya hee nahee inn zalim logon Ko, jutian parrain to set rahain yeh so called VIPs!!!

  5. Each and every one must respect the dutiful personal, no one is above the law, we must surrender ourselves before the law.
