It is painful to mention that every year thousands of people die due to unsafe food in Pakistan. It is estimated that 2 million people die annually – including a number of children. Unsafe food is causing harmful bacteria, viruses and parasites which are the responsible for more than 200 diseases ranging from diarrhoea to cancer. Every year April 7 is held for World Health Day for promoting the health safety of the people. Unfortunately the day is celebrated in our country but there is no action for the health of people. It is our leaders foremost responsibility to provide better health facilities and provide clean foods.
