The point was to break bread together and mend fences. But the reconciliation meeting between Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chaudhry Sarwar, held at Jehangir Tareen’s house, and attended by Imran Khan himself, was far from cordial. Things almost came to blows. They did throw their napkins at each other.
Even on the walk out of the house, there were some terse exchanges.
One of the issues discussed was the decision of starting the campaign against the Sharifs on the Panama issue from Sindh or the Punjab. SMQ wanted to go with Sindh and eventually did so.
One thing worth noting at the meeting was that even though Nawaz Sharif is somehow famous for his love for food, it truly is the PTI chairman who truly lives to eat. Quite a spread is laid out in front of him, wherever he goes.
