The provincial health department on Sunday issued final show notices to 10 doctors over prolonged absence.
Earlier, the health department had called 19 long absent doctors for personal hearing but only nine appeared before the committee.
The doctors who did not appear included Suresh Kumar Tulerja, Shaikh Imran, Kanesh Kumar, Zulfikar Ali Qutrio, Aijaz Ali, Naveed Uddin, Hari Lal, Zaheer Ahmed, Aziz u Nisa and Shehla Yasmeen. Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar had warned them to join their duties soon otherwise they would be removed from their services. He said a continuous screening system was going on against absent employees in the health department and no one would be spared in this regard.
