In a raid inspired by those of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council, the Pakistan Fashion Council has raided many seedy fashion establishments and has arrested around 150 quack fashion designers.

“This was a massive sting operation that had been planned since many months now,” said the Council’s Director Operations, Anoushe Haider. “We had been receiving tips since some time now, but we didn’t know the problem was so big.”

“These were all uncertified fashion designers, who were risking people’s lives by designing clothes for them,” she said.

“This is not the olden days, where uneducated village quacks would give people medical advice and design clothes for them. Medicine and fashion design should only be practiced by individuals who have attended a PMDC or PFC certified institute,” she continued. “These are people’s lives that we are talking about, for God’s sake!”

At the press conference, the Director had brought in some of the victims of these quack designer. “She had gotten me into this mauve design,” said Sara Haider, a resident of Lahore, barely able to keep back her tears. “Despite my skin tone….”

“She told me that I couldn’t go wrong with orange this spring,” said Saima Hassan. “Well…..I did go wrong!”
