The Rawalpindi Forest Department has constituted a special mobile force to launch a crackdown on timber mafia for cutting down trees in the forests of Margalla Hills, Murree, Ghora Galli, Lehtrar, Kotli Satiyan, Punjar and Kahota.
The special force has been equipped with latest arms, wireless sets vehicles and guards. The teams will work on shifts.
A control room has also been set up in the Forest Department to monitor the activities of the timber mafia and to stop them from cutting trees in the forests.
