Speaking to reporters from his jail cell in Karachi, ARY anchor Iqrar-ul-Hassan has claimed that the 500 bags of heroin that the police have recovered from his car were actually part of a grand sting operation to expose the sub-par state of monitoring by the Karachi police.
He said that just the way he had smuggled a weapon inside the premises of the Sindh assembly to expose the lax security setup there, these bags of heroin were a part of a sting operation.
“These bags, which I would like back, thank you very much, are to be treated just the same way as the weapons that I had earlier smuggled using Pakistan Railway trains to expose the inadequacies of the railways department,” he said.
Earlier, Hassan had told his wife that the numbers of the women listed in his phone book under “Girl Friend 1”, “Girl Friend 2” and “Hot Bachi from Work” were an attempt to see how far he could go with having these numbers in his phone before she caught him. “This was just to keep you on your toes about your own situational awareness, even though you know I would never cheat on you,” he said. “But please don’t delete those numbers.”
