Suspected terrorists killed, four cops injured in encounter

Two alleged terrorists were killed while six cops were injured in two separate encounters in Karachi on Saturday.

In the first incident, the Counter-Terrorism Department received information about the presence of suspected terrorists in Nusrat Bhutto Colony on which a raiding party launched a search operation there. The security officials came under attack from a house in which three suspected terrorists belonging to a banned outfit were holed up.

After an intense shootout, the police were able to kill a suspect identified as Nawaz while his two accomplices managed to escape. Four police officials identified as 25-year-old Ahsan Javed, 25-year-old Mujeeb, 28-year-old Shehzad and 34-year-old Sajjad were injured in the gunfight.

In a separate encounter, an alleged militant was killed near Mianwali Colony, Peerabad.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the suspect identified as Mohammad Khan was killed in an exchange of fire with security officials while his partner Zaki managed to escape.

Two CTD policemen PC 20864 Sajid, PC 25454 Shazad and a passerby Mujeeb were injured during the shootout.
