Khalid Hussain Magsi, a candidate of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has emerged victorious in the by-election in NA-267, according to the provincial election commission.
Magsi bagged 29, 630 votes against PTI’s Yar Muhammad Rind, who stood second with 19, 533 votes.
More than 21, 500 women exercised their right to vote in the by-election, it said, adding that 56, 458 people came out to vote in the National Assembly constituency, which has 145, 000 registered voters.
The overall turnout in the by-election stood at 38 percent.
According to the election commission, 2, 350 votes were rejected for various reasons.
