Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday endorsed Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s call for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation till the completion of the probe into the Panama Papers revelations.

Talking to reporters, Imran Khan said that it is the responsibility of Nawaz Sharif to respond to the allegations being leveled against him.

“PM has not declared his offshore companies, he should declare his assets and tax details in parliament as British Premier David Cameron did in parliament; if he is not guilty,” he added.

The PTI chief also said that all his assets were in Pakistan and declared before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

He said that tax money collected from citizens were spent on advertisements by Marryam Nawaz Sharif’s media cell, adding that he would approach the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in this regard.

Imran Khan said that only transparent elections can bring real democracy in the country, adding that it is up to the prime minister to decide whether there is democracy or dictatorship prevailing in the country.

To a query, the PTI chairman said, “I will not reveal the TORs proposed by PTI for a judicial probe into the Panama Papers scandal because we want to build a consensus among the opposition parties on the points.”

Imran said that the PTI would give a timeline to the prime minister to respond to all the allegations against his family.

Imran Khan also expressed support for Jahangir Tareen, saying that the names of PM’s family members is in the list whereas Tareen had legally transferred money abroad.

  1. It seems that US Congressmen consider India's lucrative market is more important than its commitment to tackle terrorism in an eeffective manner!

  2. Remember Zardaari worked with PMLQ during their time of power and Chaudhry Brotheraan were almost washed away from assemblies in the election. Now little zardaari is helping to do same for Immu Bhai and Party.
