Thirty seven primary schools have been set up for the children of brick kiln labourers in Rawalpindi.
The schools have been set up by the literacy department under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister, an official said. He said that 4,220 students have been admitted in these schools. “A proposal is under consideration to open 10 more such schools,” the official added.
These schools have been set up in Chak Beli Khan, Dhok Syedan, Chak Jalal Din, Dhok Hamidan, Fateh Jang Road, Wahdat Colony Taxila, Nosherwan and Lado Gujar Khan. Free books and uniform have been provided to the students in these schools.
