Ministry for Religious Affairs cancels Hajj balloting

The Ministry for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has cancelled Friday’s Hajj balloting.

According to details the Supreme Court has ordered the ministry not to issue results of balloting on Friday, at which, the ministry decided to cancel balloting till the decision of the apex court in order to ensure transparency.

The new date of balloting will be announced in the light of Supreme Court’s decision, the statement said.

According to ministry 280,617 applications have been received and 83,440 pilgrims will be selected through a transparent balloting.

  1. the govt of pakistan is advised to accept the applications of haj in future only from the persons who have not performed haj in their entire life instead of the condition of last five years only.

  2. The government should consider only those applicants who are going to perform hajj for the first time with a relaxation for mehrams only.

  4. The government required to have a check and balance of the private tour hajj operator and fix a reasonable expenses as compared with the total dues fixed by the Government.

    We request to court, please do not creating problem for applicant of HAJJ 2016. there are many other issue to play and please
    leave hajj applicant . millions of people heart are beating with this decision. please please allow new date and
    close all private quota, all applicant must go through govt balloting .

    govt hajj balloting scheme
