Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that his political opponents are unduly making hue and cry over Panama scam, claiming that he has already declared his assets.
In a meeting with national assembly members, the PM said his government has completed “record number of development projects” during the last three years.
The PM expressed these views in separate meetings with Sardar Muhammad Irfan Dogar, Alam Daad Lalika and Mian Najeeb Uddin Awaisi.
The Prime Minister said 10,000 megawatts of electricity would add soon to the national grid. “It will not only end power outages but also provide cheap electricity to the consumers.”
“World institutions are also recognizing the economic strides made by the country. The inflation rate has also witnessed growth while foreign exchange reserves are standing at a record level,” he asserted.
Nawaz Sharif said he has already taken the nation into confidence about his assets but some elements are still restoring to negative politics on our positive steps.
He said the decision taken to form the commission under the supervision of Chief Justice of Pakistan as per the demand of the political parties.
He regretted that the opponents again changed their stance on the matter and doing politics on hollow slogans.
Nawaz Sharif is under tremendous pressure from the opposition to step down since his family members were named in the mass leak of offshore account data from the Panama firm Mossack Fonseca.
To probe the Panama Papers, the PM has announced the formation of the judicial commission under Chief Justice of Pakistan, but the opposition is not satisfied with terms of references (TORs) for the commission.
