Former president Pervez Musharraf’s counsel has withdrawn an application, filed against issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants of his client by a trial court in the Ghazi Abdul Rashid murder case from the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

When IHC judge Amir Farooq took up the case for hearing on Thursday, Musharraf’s counsel Malik Tahir Mehmood took the plea that he has filed a new petition in the trial court seeking exemption for his client from appearing in the court on the basis of medical certificate. Therefore, the petition was no more needed to be pursued in the high court.

The court while accepting his plea returned the petition.

On February 20, Additional and Sessions Judge Pervez Al Qadir Memon issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pervez Musharraf, which had been challenged in the IHC.
