Polling for by-election in National Assembly’s constituency NA-267 Jhal Magsi district is underway, reported on Thursday.
According to sources, 165 polling stations have been established by Election Commission (EC) while more than 35,000 police and Levies officers have also been deployed in the area.
The local administration has ensured steps to prevent any untoward situation and installation of CCTV cameras.
As many as sixteen candidates belonging from different political parties are participating in the poll while a strong contest is expected between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khalid Magsi.
About 1, 64,049 people would use their voting rights among which 87,473 are male and 58,576 are female voters.
The seat fell vacant after Supreme Court disqualified Khalid Magsi’s membership and ordered re-election in the area.
