Mr Pakistan title deferred after 4 steroids casualties in 17 days

Body building association has deferred Mr Pakistan title competition after four builders died this month due to steroids abuse.

The competition was scheduled to be held in May 1st in Swat.

Hundreds of body builders were preparing for the big event however the federation has postponed the competition. Sources said that the association was fearing government team’s raid for dope test during the event.

However, the association has cited Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam- Fazl chief (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s rally in the area the reason for the postponement.

Earlier this month, four body builders died due to steroids abuse in different cities. Gajju Ustad from Sialkot, South Asian gold winner Lahore’s Humayun Khurram and Gujranwala’s Matloob Haider and Rizwan had misused different steroids.

On April 20, the federation revoked registration of clubs after the casualties.

According to federation’s president, committees comprising of five members each were formed in provinces to probe the cases. Fresh registration of different clubs would be conducted, he said.

He further said that every club would have to sign an affidavit against use of steroids.
