Islamabad Police to be made SMART force: IGP

Inspector General of Police Tariq Masood Yasin on Thursday called for making the Islamabad Police a SMART Police Force which would be strict and sensitive, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, tech-savvy and trained.

During his visit to the various sections and police barracks at Police Lines Headquarters, the IGP said that the Islamabad Police would be made SMART police and their entire system and record would be made IT-based.

He said that people would be facilitated through use of modern technology and more responsible police culture would be ensured through timely response and feedback to citizens upon complaints.

The IGP renewed his commitment to ensure protection to citizens, saying his doors were open to people for resolution of their issues.

He also directed police officials including the station house officers (SHOs) to ensure their presence in offices. The IGP also vowed to resolve the complaints of police employees and ensure steps for their welfare.

He also fixed Wednesday for hearing the problems of police employees and assured to resolve their professional issues on immediate basis.
