Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday while conditionally allowing Ministry of Religious Affairs to conduct Hajj draw has directed not to declare pilgrims  names before the verdict is announced.

A three-member bench headed by acting Chief Justice Saqib Nisar conducted the hearing of the case.

Tour operators’ attorney adopted the stance that permission to minimize quota of private operators was not taken from high-level committee.

Justice Khilji Arif Hussain asked that why the policy is designed at the last moment and not before.

Justice Saqib Nisar remarked that court’s orders were not kept in view while making the Hajj policy as despite of forming the committee permission was not taken from it for the approval of Hajj policy.

SC while adjourning the hearing has summoned a written reply from Ministry of Religious Affairs in this regard.
