Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday demanded to start a probe into corruption allegations from the family of rulers and trickle it down from top to bottom.

He was addressing a nation-wide anti-corruption march that started from Karachi under the slogan ‘Corruption Mitaoo, Mulk Bachayo (eliminate corruption, save the country).

According to details, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started a nation-wide anti-corruption march from Karachi led by its Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi. The rally marched from Karachi to Badin via Thatta on the first day.

Addressing on the occasion, Qureshi said they had started the march on the instructions of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. He said this march was against the corrupt rulers. He said the PTI wanted to expose the people who looted and plundered the wealth of this country. He said other opposition parties also supported this principle stance of the PTI. “We feel the government is not sincere in launching a probe into the Panama Leaks; therefore, the opposition has rejected the TROs for the proposed probe commission. As the Panama Leaks mention the prime minister and his family; therefore, we demand that the investigation should be started from the Sharif family.” He said the government had not given any timeframe for the probe in its letter sent to the chief justice and it could take months or even years, which showed that the government was not sincere in this probe.

Earlier, thousands of PTI workers welcomed Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi as he reached Karachi Airport. From the airport, Qureshi accompanied by PTI leaders Dr Arif Alvi, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Zain Hussain Qureshi, Lal Malhi, Muneem Khan, Subhan Ali Sahil, Naeem Adil Shiekh, Agha Rafiullah and others left for Quaid-e-Abad in form of a big caravan. A large number of PTI workers in cars and motorcycles participated in the convoy. People at different places warmly welcomed the caravan and showered rose petals on them. Big hoardings and banners with portraits of Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Haleem Adil Sheikh and Dr Arif Alvi were installed at various places to welcome the caravan which stopped at Malir, Quaid-e-Abad, Gharo, Thatta, Sujawal, Golarchi and Badin where the PTI leaders addressed thousands of people.

Dr Arif Alvi and Haleem Adil Sheikh also addressed the participants and invited them to join the anti-corruption movement.
