Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that some people want to place hurdles on the journey of progress that the government is leading the nation on through their unjustified criticism but vowed they will not be allowed to succeed.
The premier reiterated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring economic revolution in the country and will change the destiny of nation.
He was talking to the Members of National Assembly Babar Nawaz Khan, Muhammad Saqlain Bukhari and Malik Sultan Mahmood who called on him separately in Islamabad.
The prime minister said the government is focusing on completion of power projects to end the energy crisis.
Nawaz Sharif said the government is working day and night for the welfare of the people and urged the elected representatives to do the same.
The MNAs praised the policies of the prime minister for the uplift of the people and the development of the country.
PM MEETS NHA CHIEF:
Meanwhile, talking to National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar, the premier said the network of motorways will complement the regional connectivity initiative, speed up development process and increase economic growth.
He said as a result of this, a number of employment opportunities will be generated across the country.
The National Highway Authority chairman gave a comprehensive briefing to the prime minister on the status of ongoing as well as future development projects across the country.
The meeting was informed that the prime minister will perform the groundbreaking of Havelian-Thakot, Multan-Sukkur, D.I. Khan-Hakla, Lahore-Multan and Sialkot-Lahore Motorways during the next three weeks.
The prime minister was apprised that infrastructure development projects worth Rs 800 billion, including CPEC projects will be completed during the next two to three years.
AZERBAIJAN MINISTER CALLS ON PM:
Later, while talking to Azerbaijan’s Minister for Defence Industry Yavar Jamalov who also called on him at the PM House, the prime minister said Pakistan places high value on its partnership and friendly relations with Azerbaijan.
He said Pakistan is keen to enhance its ties with Azerbaijan in the defence, energy, commercial and economic fields. Both sides agreed to further enhance cooperation in bilateral trade.
They agreed to continue the joint ministerial meetings to find out new opportunities. Yavar Jamalov said Azerbaijan is keen to import defence products and raw materials from Pakistan.
