Young Doctors Association’s (YDA) protest against torture on their colleagues has entered second day on Tuesday.

According to details, young medical practitioners shut outpatient departments (OPDs) at all the governmental hospitals and stated that the protest would be continued till indefinite time period.

Patients who have travelled from far flung areas to get their family members’ checked at the hospital are facing issues due to the hooliganism.

On the other hand, doctors in Faisalabad also locked the OPDs in civil and Allied Hospital for the same cause. Thousands of patients returned to their homes without being unattended due to the strike.

The doctors association is holding strike against senior doctors’ torture on their colleagues in Sargodha and General Hospital in Lahore.

Earlier, YDA protest claimed four lives in Sargodha District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) as emergency and outpatient department (OPD) were shut.

The association protested against colleague’s dismissal and attempted to shut the services at hospital. Medics on duty resisted against association’s rowdy behaviour. Clash was intensified when protesters manhandled the senior doctors.

The provincial government was seen quiet over the issue as no action has been taken to handle the situation.

  1. It's sad that people expect a doctor to even function while an MNA's guards are beating him up. Isn't he a human being too? The MNA was refused protocol because that doctor was busy treating other ordinary patients who were in the waiting list since morning. The Media is so biased it's despicable.
There would be no strikes if the MNA in question had apologized, or Shahbaz Sharif who the MNA represents had condemned his MNA's actions! So easy to blame it all on the Doctors!
