Shiv Sena tears banner of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Ahmedabad concert

Continuing with its opposition of Pakistani artists arriving in India to feature their talent, Shiv Sena workers have torn apart a billboard of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

The advertisement banner was displayed to publicise a concert of the singing sensation, which is scheduled for April 30 in Ahmedabad, India.

About 20 activists first thrashed the banner near Shahibaug bridge before defacing another with black ink at RTO circle, according to local leader of the hard-line organisation, Jitu Solanki.

“On one side, terrorists are taking lives of innocent Indians, while on the other hand, these Pakistani singers are coming here to make money. We cannot allow such commercial activity by them. We want to tell them that Gujarat’s doors are closed for them,” said Solanki.

Workers have also planned a protest in this regards, he added.

“We will also stage protests against Khan when he lands in the city for the concert. Today’s protests were just a warning, as we may go to extremes to stop him from performing in the city.”
