Raees release postponed till 2017 to avoid clash with Sultan

In order to avoid clash Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has been postponed till January 2017. For all we know, it might be a bigger hit than Sultan, but looks like we have to wait longer than before.

According to Times of India, its release has been delayed to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan. Both films were initially announced as Eid releases, but SRK had already made a statement about how he would be willing to shift dates for the sake of Sultan. He is a man of his word!

Trade experts are happy with the decision, claiming that two superstars cannot launch their films together – there just aren’t enough cinemas in all of India! And with the recent plummet of Fan, it would be wise of SRK to step aside for Sallu’s Sultan, which would also be a better choice for an Eid release considering its lighthearted compared to Raees.

Despite the technicalities, SRK turns out to be the bigger Khan, stepping aside for Sultan, and we’re glad that the two icons seem to be respectful of each other’s business. Mahira Khan has not yet launched any statement. We hope to hear her opinion on the matter as well!
