Imran not accepting TORs due to written off loans of Tareen: Pervaiz

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Monday said the news of Jehangir Tareen getting his loan written off from the banks is obvious reason that Imran Khan is not accepting ToRs for the Judicial Commission.

“We are serious in probing all allegations regarding Panama Papers but PTI leadership is hiding something murky from people of Pakistan that is why they are opposing the ToRs.”

According to Rashid, companies of Jehangir Khan Tareen got waived off Rs 49.819 million of loans from various banks.

According to a document of Consumer Protection Department of State Bank of Pakistan, as on February 28, 2013, his company Faruki Pulp Mills got waived off Rs 19.234 million from United Bank Limited, Rs 9.015 million from Muslim Commercial Bank Limited and Rs 21. 57 million from Royal Bank of Scotland.

While his another company State Engineering (Heavy Mechanical Complex) had to pay Rs 0.932 million to Industrial Development Bank Limited (Formerly IDBP).

While the company State Engineering still had to pay Rs 406.818 million to the National Bank.
