The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of former IG Islamabad Aftab Ahmad Cheema promotion case till Tuesday.
When IHC judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case for hearing on Monday, Advocate Mustafa Ramday appeared on behalf of the petitioner and Arshid Mehmood Kiani appeared on behalf of the federation.
Secretary establishment division Syed Tahir Shahbaz could not appear in the court despite being summoned.
The court had ordered for granting pro-forma promotion.
The counsel for the petitioner during previous hearing had said that favourite people have been promoted despite the fact that inquiries were under way against them. On the other hand, his client Cheema has not been promoted despite being cleared an inquiry.
Upon this, the judge had remarked that most batch mates of the petitioner have been promoted and the court should not be forced to open everything.
