BZU buses kill one boy, injures five others in two separate road mishaps

At least one person was killed while five others sustained severe wounds as Bahauddin Zakariya University buses collided with motorcycle and rickshaw in two separate road mishaps, reported on Tuesday.

According to details, two university buses were holding a race at Bypass Road that crushed a 15-year-old motorcyclist Shahazad to death near Shorkot colony.

Deceased Shahzad’s two friends also sustained severe injuries and were immediately shifted to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition.

Learning about the accident, locals and victim family reached the scene and chanted slogans against the university administration. The protesters also torched university bus and demanded stern action against the culprits.

Arriving on the spot, police personnel arrested the driver and launched an investigation into the matter.

In another incident near Kumharan Wala Chowk, one more Bahauddin Zakariya University bus rammed into a qingqi rickshaw and injured as many as three people.

The affectees were taken to Nishtar Hospital for medical assistance.

So far, about nine persons have lost their lives after getting hit by speeding university buses in different parts of country.
