A day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) launched drive against corruption, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced a public contact campaign targeting strongholds of PTI politics, local media reported.
According to reporters, the PM is scheduled to visit various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where he will inaugurate uplift projects.
Officials said the PM is scheduled to arrive in Mansehra city on April 28 to inaugurate second phase of Motorway and Sui Gas supply project for Oghi Tehsil.
He will address a public gathering at the Hazara University ground in Mansehra, besides distributing cheques among affectees of rain and landsliding.
Moreover, the PM will inaugurate a project of Bannu airport expansion, motorway section in Kohat, besides attending foundation stone-laying ceremony of CPEC’s western route project in DI Khan.
In the next phase, the PM is also likely to arrive in Swat to inaugurate a hospital funded by the Sharif family.
During his visit, PM Nawaz Sharif is also expected to announce some mega projects for the KPK province.
Yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan, addressing a large crowd at Islamabad’s F9 park, kicked off an anti-corruption movement in Sindh from April 26, and a rally in Lahore on May 1.
Also, the Jamaat-e-Islami, that is ally of the PTI in KPK, announced countrywide protests against corruption from May 1.
The special anti-corruption campaign is aimed at putting pressure on the government to consult with the Opposition on formulation of terms of references (TORs) for judicial commission.
