Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri on Saturday asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign over allegations levelled on him and his family in Panama Papers leaks.

Qadri made this demand during a meeting of his party’s core committee.

The PAT chief said that PM Sharif was trying to entangle Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali with the terms of reference (ToRs) for the enquiry commission.

He also questioned as to why the opposition weren’t consulted while the ToRs were being drafted. “It appears as if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has decided to assume the role of a suicide bomber,” he added.

During the meeting, the PAT decided to convene an All-Party Conference in the second week of May on the issue of Model Town tragedy. A committee was also formed to establish contacts with different political parties for the APC.
