Five killed, six injured in violence

As many as five people were killed and six others injured in different violence incidents in the metropolis on Sunday.

According to rescue sources, Fareeda Khatoon, 40, wife of Gul Shahab, was shot dead and her daughter Alia Khatoon, 25, injured when unknown armed men entered their house and fired at them near Taiser Town, sector 36/B, in Surjani Town. The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for autopsy and treatment. Police said the incident was result of a personal enmity. Further investigation was underway, they added.

Unidentified armed men, while driving a car, opened fire on a motorcycle near Khayaban-e-Badar, Phase 5, in Defense area. As a result, a man, Umar Farooq, and a woman, Chand Bibi, were injured. They were shifted to a hospital where the woman died. Fatima, 12, daughter of Pir Bux, was shot at and injured by a stray bullet in her house in Orangi Town. She was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where she died during the treatment. An unidentified man was killed and another injured near Khayaban-e-Jami and Phase 2 Extension in different incidents of robbery. Separately, a man was shot dead in Rangi Wara in Lyari, while two children and a man were shot at and injured over personnel dispute in Malir’s Asoo Goth
