He may only be two years old, but already some pretty important people are making demands on Prince George’s time.

Last night the toddler stayed up late to meet Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, at an informal dinner hosted by his parents.

The young prince was captured shaking hands with the US President, and playing on his rocking horse.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, had dinner with the Obamas at Kensington Palace.

Prince George’s younger sister, Princess Charlotte, clearly didn’t share his excitement about meeting the President – she was fast asleep.

But the young prince was clearly enjoying his rocking horse, which was a present from the Obama’s to mark his birth.

It has a presidential seal on the saddle.

A Kensington Palace spokesman told The Mirror: ‘Prince George stayed up to meet the president and first lady when they arrived at Kensington Palace.

‘He was able to show the president and first lady a rocking horse – given to George when he was born – and a stuffed toy – given to George when Princess Charlotte was born – that had been previously given to him by president and Mrs Obama.’
