MQM stages sit-in for recovery of missing workers

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Rabitta Committee and lawmakers staged a protest demonstration and sit-in outside Karachi Press Club to express solidarity with the families of missing and detained party workers.

Talking to media persons, Rabitta Committee Deputy Convener Kanwar Naveed Jameed said: “Our party activists are detained and forced to join the establishment’s party.” They were also being threatened from unknown people via phone calls.

Rauf Siddiqui said that over 70 MQM workers were missing. “If miscreants are present in the ranks of MQM, they should be nabbed and presented before the court.” The protesters were carrying banners and photos of the missing party workers.
